You can do this numerous ways, but to recover your account try the below steps.

  1. Boot the Windows 7 install DVD
  2. When the "Install Windows" page comes up, click Next
  3. In System Recovery Options click Command Prompt
  4. In the command prompt type in regedit
  5. In the left side of the Registry Editor click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
  6. Then click File > Load Hive
  7. Enter NaV\system32\config\SAM under File Name and press open
  8. Enter a name for the hive(adminfix)
  9. Navigate to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\adminfix\SAM\Domains\Account\Users”
  10. Select the foler “000001F4”
  11. In the right side pane double-click the “F” entry.
  12. In the Edit Binary Value window change the value after “0038” which should be “11”, change it to “10”.
    • Make sure not to modify anthing else (spaces, other values, etc)
  13. Click OK
  14. Select the hive that we loaded earlier (adminfix)
  15. Then click File > Unload Hive
  16. Restart the computer
  17. Log in with the administrator account and modify your user password
